  MSP STARCH PRODUCTS Description : MSP(RS)-resistant starch is a natural source of resistant starch that has been proven effective in improving the state-of the gut microbiota in swine. This supplement comes in a powder form that is easy to distribute, and can be easily thrown in with any type of feed mix. It can effectively be used at many critical times - birth, weaning, nursery weeks 1 to 3 and can be fed to lactating sows. MSP(RS)-resistant starch works by increasing the population of healthy flora in the digestive tract. This increases the production of short chain fatty acids, such as butyrate, which change the pH level in the digestive tract, making the environment unfavorable for pathogenic bacteria. The increase in the production of butyrate helps fuel the growth of coloncytes, helping to build a stronger, healthier colon and has been demonstrated effective in reducing scours in swine. |
